Identify the pricing model

One-time price, subscription, usage charge, bundle, tiered plan and introductory price create different comparisons.

List mandatory extras

Required accessories, delivery, activation or platform fees belong in the comparison.

Separate optional upgrades

An upgrade should be judged on the additional benefit it provides, not because it is presented beside a basic version.

Compare over a useful time period

Monthly and annual prices should be converted to the same period before comparing.
